Here’s a ‘Dead like me’/'The Office’ take on the inner workings of the Universe… God, Inc. Like Mr. Deity in the fact that it would make a great concept for a TV show, God Inc. portrays the Universe being run, not by an all-powerful, singular deity, but by a stuffy, bureaucratic office full of slightly neurotic workers. Perhaps this is the system Mr. Deity setup so that he could take Sunday off?
Whereas Mr. Deity has a kind of personal warmth and charm, God, Inc. is stark and lonely. Apparently, the newly deceased are ‘hired’ by the office to fill a position in a particular department… no mention is made of ever being outside of the office and (if i recall correctly) no windows to the ‘outside’ exist, literally and figuratively. The entire show is lit by the cold radiance of fluorescent office lighting.
With a new political climate in America (the Democratic controlled House and Senate), the theocratic retard Bush quickly becoming a lame duck of a President, Dawkins, Shermer, Harris and Dennett (Not to mention the Infidel Guy and the Rational Response Squad -see my links to the left) out there trying to make the world safe for logic, reason and science, the time is absolutely RIPE for intelligent, witty, humorous and insightful programming that has the balls to even DISCUSS the deity/religion concept. Religion should no longer be a taboo subject. Delusion should no longer be respected or given a free pass. ALL things are to be questioned, nothing is beyond reproach. The number of non-believers is growing… and as it should. The natural world is so beautiful and so wondrous… why try to explain it away with Bronze Age myths and self-contradictory, immoral dogma? Its OKAY to laugh at the big questions… especially when some people’s answers are so laughable.
Remember: People who don’t want their beliefs laughed at shouldn’t have such funny beliefs.
