nah.. you guys are just 'regular shmoes' compared to the legendary Army of New Genesis.
ah, you know me.. i change the campaign to fit the characters, not the other way around. Make what you want and I'll compensate.

Here's a far out question........
Will we be running into any former npc's/pc's from the alternate temporal universe of New Gen (500 years ago)?

lol... yeah. ALL of the villains, all at once! MWAHAHAHAH...
no, not really.
I currently have no plans for ANG characters to make an appearance in the current NewGen campaign.

I was reading up on the Defiled Race (cuz i'm me) and I had a question. It says they are similar to undead and share some of their immunities.
But also says they get
+4 resistance to mind effects,
+4 to Saves vs. Poison, Sleep, etc.,
50% Fortification,
50% resistance to ability score damage,
And then it says that they're also immune to all of these? And they don't have any of the weaknesses that Undead do. (they don't take damage from Healing effects) Also, are they considered 'Humanoid Monster: Undead' or Constructs?
To justify only 1 CL penalty for Defiled Adventurers you may need to work in a weakness to the race type, such as taking added damage from fire or something similar. I like the idea of just watering down the Undead abilities for teh Defiled, since the Defiled bodies are still slightly alive with Spark flowing through them. Perhaps you can substitue Spark Points for Hit Points. Also, it makes sense for criticals to be slightly possible, assuming the Spark Point to Hit Point conversion, since you can still damage the body's Spark Flow efficiency. Or you can even count the ctricials as hitting a pocket of Spark. Attacker takes 1 point of Electricity Damage per 5 points of damage dealt on a successful critical, since the Spark has to go somewhere and we allready determined that Spark hurts normal people (Lux's experiment on the airship)
ugh... why is it 7am allready? I'll think on this stuff some more and we can talk this weekend. Best thing to do is compare the abilities given to Defiled to abilities given by other CL1 and CL2 races, and balance it out that way.

i had originally made the Defiled Race a +2 LA race. After play testing with Sandy/Lux, it seemed to make them very underpowered when compared to their party.. being immune in an Undead way didn't make up for lack of Class levels... in combat or out.
They DO have several weaknesses already (unable to be healed with normal Healing magic, reliance on Spark, no CON bonuses to HP, grotesque appearance, etc.) and i DO have some concepts of further penalties, such as:
Electric Shock: When a Defiled is hit with an normal or magical electrical effect, they are stunned (or shaken, etc) for a number of rounds related to the amount of damage. Normal electricity interferes with the exotic and precisely calibrated Spark in their bodies.
I may make it where they can still be affected by mind effects (their minds are still 'alive' and sparking)... BUT, if i do that, i would logically have to open up Psionics to them.. something i don't want to do.
I'm still refining the Race and trying to find a good balance. Yes, the Defiled get some neat stuff, but, in the absence of their Necrotech, they have very serious problems.
I'm changing the Race page now to eliminate some left over text from when i changed them from +2 LA to +1 LA.
Defiled are considered Corporeal Undead in most ways except where exemptions are detailed in the text.
this is EXACTLY the kind of advice and help i need with our campaign!
Thanks, David!
