In addition now to the Official M-Forums Banlist, I've started a new site dedicated to forum spammers: Stop Forum Spam. It'll contain all the latest details from the banlist, as well as from the Volks Folks site.
Check it out!

I've added an IP check URL, e.g.: http://www.stopforumspam.com/ipcheck/209.163.169.9
Trying to figure out what other useful IP-type info I can add there.

Well, it took a while, but I've manually added all of the entries from the M-Forums Banlist into the database. That adds up now to over 1000 spammers caught.

I've begun to start working on displaying statistics on all this data I've got. For instance, the world map: http://www.stopforumspam.com/stats/map

New line chart showing the number of spam registrations per month: http://www.stopforumspam.com/stats/permonth
It was actually quite tricky to pull out the data to feed to the graph.

I created a simple API interface to incorporate the data into other applications.

I've had a lot of requests from people who want to contribute their own spammer data, so I created an API key system and a manual form for submitting entries.

I get a lot of emails from people asking for help, so I've added a forum which will hopefully make things easier.

Are you able to check this page in IE 6?

Map section seems to be justified under the site links that's on the left.

Announcement 1: I'll be on phpBB Weekly tomorrow, talking about Stop Forum Spam with my friend Paul Lush. Streamed like at 1:00 PM EST and subsequently available for download.
StopForumSpam.com is a great service that tracks users who register on bulletin boards as forum spammers, allowing administrators to block those users from successfully registering on their boards. We'll be joined by Russ Jackson and Paul Lush, co-developers of StopForumSpam.com, to learn a bit more about how the site works and have a discussion about the best ways to deal with forum spammers. This will be a very informative episode for all phpBB administrators to listen to, so plan to join us for this episode of phpBB Weekly!
