Re: iPhone

i keep hearing people (haters, i guess) say how shitty the iPhone is... i have NO fucking clue what they're talking about. its beautiful, clean, elegant, useful, fast and easy to use.

i'm not real pleased with the whole iTunes thing, but, meh... it ain;t like i'm the only one using it... plus, it could be SO much worse.. iTunes is more good than bad.

Re: iPhone

I'm not a huge fan of iTunes either, but it does the job and its pretty stable. I guess I just cant get out of the old mindset of "navigate through folders to the file you want and double click to play" *shrugs*

It seems like most of the haters are annoyed because a) its apple or b) it isnt every last little thing they want.

Re: iPhone

Yes, you've discovered that what it has and what it doesn't have isn't the point of the device. The iPhone is basically a reboot of every conception you have of interacting with a handheld device, and its design is simple and stylish enough to make all current and future phones appear obsolete.

Most products now designed to compete with the iPhone are basically designed to match a laundry list of features the iPhone has, with no consideration as to how the device looks and works, and it shows that they just don't get it.

Congrats on your purchase.

Re: iPhone

I've got my contacts moved over to it, i've sent TXT msgs, put some songs put onto it, i've surfed the net (hee hee iPorn!), i've used GoogleMaps, got my Gmail account set up to it, got my weather, and i'm thoroughly enjoying how well it works.

NOW... to get used to the dayplanner functions, get Wi-Fi (secured, of course) for the flat, and start snapping pics. big_smile

Re: iPhone

I've seen some really cool third party apps out there for it. And if I had an iPhone (Or iPod touch) I'd jailbreak it.

If you wanted other apps, could you by another phone that supports 3rd party apps without having to hack your iphone?

Re: iPhone

Simply visit http://www.jailbreakme.com/ on your iPhone and use the install AppSnapp link at the bottom. This will initiate the buffer overflow exploit which will crash Safari and install Installer.app on your phone. Once your phone reboots, you're done. You'll see the installer on the iPhone's main menu. Launch that and update if necessary, and then browse and install third party software from the menu.

will Apple find out about it and brick my phone?
