Re: The men who stare at goats

I remember seeing the real man on Colbert about a month ago.  Funny stuff, and the movie looks very good.

Re: The men who stare at goats

The Rick Copeland is somewhat familiar with it in that a year or so ago he read Jon Ronson's book on which the movie is based. The book is quite amusing but also touches on how these kooky new age movements from the 1970's were formed in booklet for a branch called "The First Earth Battalion" but co-opted into the "harsh interrogation techniques"/ "enhanced interrogation techniques" now used by the U.S. government...

From what The Rick Copeland can tell, it appears they have taken elements of the book fictionalized some people in the book and made composite characters of others and wrapped them up in a more structured plot that seems to highlight the more comic elements of Ronson's writing...

The Rick Copeland has not seen the movie, but probably will when it comes to our local Cinema Pub in Salt Lake so he can enjoy the movie with a few cold ones. But those who have seen it and enjoyed it might wat to check out the original book. It's a short and easy read. Plus you are reminded of what a fraud perpetual "Coast-to-Coast A.M." guest Major Ed Dames is... Remote viewing the Loch Ness monster and claiming it's the ghost of a dinosaur... Sheee-it...
