I try to not talk too much about WoW... yes, i play it, but i committed to NOT be one of those assholes that talks about it in a conversational way, unless every single person in earshot is as engaged in the subject material as i am.
That said, the new LFG tool that was implemented a few days ago is a phenomenal system. it excels in function, form and utility. From anywhere in the game, i can queue up for a random Heroic dungeon and it will build a functional team (1 tank, 1 healer, 3 DPS) from people on my server AND ON OTHER SERVERS and, within literal SECONDS, teleport you and your group to the dungeon.
The loot is set to Need before Greed, so there is no debate or argument. Once you complete the dungeon, you get EXTRA badges (used to buy much better equipment) and gold, on TOP OF the regular rewards. Once you leave the dungeon, you're teleported right back to where you were when you teleported to the dungeon. you can then, if you so choose, get right back into queue for another random run! Its extremely efficient to just chain run several random Heroics in a row now.
its incredibly fun, useful, rewarding and easy.
If anyone has a level 80 WoW character collecting dust and you want to jump back in and get some near immediate upgrades to your gear (which also look awesome) in old and new dungeons, i would HIGHLY recommend coming back for a bit and trying it out!
Remember, if you want to game with me, im on US servers:
Alliance: Shadow Council (Quinn, Gearlocke or Snitchy)
Horde: Hyjal (Orketta)
I'm normally on Ally side, so see ya there!

its a friggn' DREAM to use.
it also works with ALL of the other, lower level dungeons, too. so, you can even use it for leveling.

Being out of the game for 9 months I feel so under geared and have no idea where to start >.<

i quote i saw on WoW.com ( a WoW blog/newsite)
"When I tank, I like to chain pull like it's 1999, but only if my healer is cool with it. It's like a band. The healer is the drummer. He sets the pace you go. If you try to go ahead of him, you just look stupid. The tank is like the frontman, singing the song, guiding the fight, but only within the healer's pace. The DPS are like everyone else, they do their thing in different ways, but it all helps get the job done. Sometimes the even have solos like Patchwerk."
damn... that's... that's insightful!

Lawl...finally, a great analogy for a team...

Blizzard Poster:
To encourage players not to shy away from the many invigorating adventures to be had in The Oculus, we have applied a change to enhance the rewards players are provided when selected for this dungeon via the Random Heroic option in the Dungeon Finder. Once Ley-Guardian Eregos is defeated, one loot bag per character will be provided in his chest in addition to the current rewards. Each loot bag will offer players rare gems, two additional Emblems of Triumph, and a chance of being rewarded the Reins of the Blue Drake. These fine treasures could be yours should you honor your fellow party members by besting the challenges contained within The Oculus! Keep in mind, however, that these extra loot bags will only be awarded to each party member if Oculus is selected by the Dungeon Finder when players choose the Random Heroic option.
In light of this change, the Reins of the Azure Drake will now have a chance of dropping in both 10- and 25-player versions of The Eye of Eternity.

I read that last night on Wow.com. The one time Junnu and I ran Oculus surprisingly we didn't have any drop outs till the end when some guy had to get to a raid.
Very excited about getting a Reins of the Blue Drake.

simple patch today.
http://www.wow.com/2010/01/05/in-game-c … -5th-2010/
# The Lady Deathwhisper encounter has seen the following changes in the 25 player normal version: mana pool has been reduced, the health on all adds has been reduced, and Adherents will wait a little longer after spawning before they start casting.
# Interrupting a fireball being cast by the Ymirjar Flamebearers in normal and heroic Pit of Saron will no longer make them instantly cast Hellfire.
# The ghost waves at the beginning of both normal and heroic Halls of Reflection have undergone several changes that should make them easier to defeat such as preventing 2 mages or 2 mercenaries from spawning in the 5 mob pulls, a shorter duration of the spectral footman's shield bash, and the spectral mage's flamestrike having a longer cast time, shorter duration, and (in heroic) doing less damage.
however, Pulse_Crawler has something to say about easier dungeons...
When I was your age, we didn't have World of Warcraft. We had World War II, and let me tell you something - when you shot at the Germans, it aggroed ten thousand of them in a 5 mile radius.

Shooting a german should aggro every germans
in a 40 mile radius. It makes sense, you are actually shooting their best friend.
