I've been rewriting Mobile Suit Gundam and I really do like the theme song, it's cool to see Andrew W.K. do it. For the Insane Party Rock he is more known for, he really is a fairly down to earth guy. The guy also loves Classical music, total +5 in my book.
Also for comparison

"In December 2009 during a lecture at Madame Jojo’s in London, Andrew W.K. finally admitted that the Andrew W.K. persona was created by a committee including himself, his father, and other individuals. Claiming, “I’m not the guy you’ve seen from the I Get Wet album…I’m not that same person. I don’t just mean that in a philosophical or conceptual way. It’s not the same person at all.” He continued to say that people were auditioned to play the part of Andrew W.K. and that the music and performances were created, “in the spirit of commerce.” Finally, in an interview from the same video he says, “I thought it would be more interesting if my secret history was revealed after the fact rather than as a precursor”."

Yeah, this has been circulating pretty heavily for a few years now. A lot of the legal trouble hes had recently seems to be a direct result of the owenrship rights to the character, music, etc.
It was somewhat disappointing to learn, but I've had a while to process it and I came to the conclusion that even if everything created as Andrew WK was fake, how it made ME feel was 100% real, and that's what really matters.
It's like the Monkees. Sure they were manufactured, but a good song is still a good song regardless. If you want more info and WK conspiracy info , google "STEEV MIKE" and watch your brain melt out your eyes.

I remember you having some disgust with Andrew WK a few years ago.. something about how we 'nuts' or something. i always thought you meant he went religious or conspiratorial or something. turns out he was just a character.
but, yeah... i still love rocking out to his (whoever 'he' is) music!

So I can get that the character was manufactured and portrayed, but they're also saying that around 2005 he was replaced with an entirely different person (who looks similar)? That's really bizarre.
He's like James Bond, lol.

The more you read, the less sense it makes!
