The Invention of Lying

I rented this last night and it was funny. Did anyone else see it? I'm amazed that the movie didn't get protested for flat out calling religion and god a lie.

Re: The Invention of Lying

So there was some stink about it, but it didn't become a big deal.

Still, Ugh.

Re: The Invention of Lying

yeah, a few people 'tut-tut'ed about it, but no big protests or anything.

Re: The Invention of Lying

The movie had A LOT of star power in it, and there were some very funny moments, but the pacing felt really slow and I think I could have been more effective and entertaining as a 20 or 40 minute short.

Re: The Invention of Lying

I rented it it via iTunes and watched it at work recently.  I liked it even though I agree with Spraksy that it was a bit slow at times.

Re: The Invention of Lying

Recently caught this and enjoyed it too.  Pacing was a bit off, but I am surprised that someone made a movie all about how Christianity was just made up by some guy and there weren't more protests and boycotts.  Almost like since it was a comedy, it was ok.  But if it had been a serious film, people would have rioted.  Odd.
