Re: S-M-R-T

Nexus One no longer coming to Verizon...looks like it's a good thing I got the Incredible.

Re: S-M-R-T

Got the Incredible today and it pretty much lives up to its name. I've never seen a mobile device as fast as this, everything is very snappy and responsive. I'm getting used to Android, there's things I like better but there's still things I like on the iPhone better too.

Re: S-M-R-T

Android Apps I find good:

Advanced Task Killer Free - kills running tasks

Apps Organizer - creates customizable folders for programs, has greatly reduced my homescreen clutter

Movies - by Flixster, wonderful tool for quickly finding theater locations, movie times, trailers, release dates, and dvd releases

Ringdroid - quick simple program to trim MP3s into ringtones

Re: S-M-R-T

Good stuff, thanks.

On another note, I thought I might hate Sense but I actually kind of like it.

Re: S-M-R-T

So I might sell my Droid Incredible, just in case anyone is interested.

Re: S-M-R-T

Probably an iPhone 4. I want to consolidate into one phone. And I would pay less per month to AT&T.

Re: S-M-R-T

Well I accidentally rooted my Incredible, heh...the unrevoked tool doesn't give you any 'confirm' dialog to start, it just does its thing as soon as you plug in the phone and turn on USB debugging. So anyways now that I'm rooted, I've been trying to get CyanogenMod up and running. There's a few test builds out already but none of them are working for me just yet.

Re: S-M-R-T

I've got mine rooted as well. Unrevoked really needs some kind of documentation to tell you what to expect. >_<;

I'd like to install Fresh Rom, but until I figure out how to actually make a nandroid backup, I'm not going to try installing any custom roms.

Re: S-M-R-T

I got a test build of Cyanogenmod 6 up and running on my Incredible. It mostly works ok except for MMS and the camera. Froyo is awesome, Chrometophone, app sync, and the Flash payer is pretty smooth. And best of all, no more HTC Sense.

Do you have clockworkmod? And ROM Manager? It does a backup for you.

Re: S-M-R-T

It's probably good, and already rooted. They will probably have some good custom ROMs ported to it soon.

Re: S-M-R-T

Latest test build of Cyanogenmod 6 for the Incredible fixes the camera. Still no camcorder, but that'll come. It's a whole lot more stable too. Here's some home screen hotness.

Re: S-M-R-T

Lookout is a free app that does anti-virus, data backup, and device location should you lose it. It's got a nice interface and works pretty well.

Re: S-M-R-T

Wow, going from an iPhone 3G on 3.1.2 to an iPhone 4 on 4.2.6 is a huge difference.

Re: S-M-R-T

If I could rip one thing out of Android and put it in iOS, it would be the notification system. Push alerts are still pretty archaic.
