They are bringing it back it seems.
Go! Go! Get your Power Morphers - it’s Morphin’ time! Bandai America will bring the best-selling Power Rangers toy line back to its intergalactic, prehistoric roots with the “five teenagers with attitude” that started it all in a new collection of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers toys. The inaugural and most recognizable of 15 Power Rangers themes, this powered up Mighty Morphin line will feature both fresh and nostalgic play and collection experiences. Including action figures, vehicles, Megazords and role-play items aligned with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV series premiering Saturday mornings January, 2010 on ABC Kids; the highly anticipated toys will begin to arrive at retail by the end of this year.

Remember the Transformers: Generation 2 cartoon? It was the old G1 show with superfluous CGI forcibly added in? And it was an attempt to revitalize a dying brand with a low cost revival of an old TV show?
Yeah. This is Power Rangers: Generation 2. I'll be speaking on it some in an upcoming podcast. Dunno when it will be ready.

Remember that time when the 80s Turtle and the New Turtles appeared in the same movie together?
No?
IT'S FUCKING AWESOME

This week on Superhero Time, we have a roundtable discussion about TMNT: Next Mutation. I think it turned out pretty good, so check it out! (feel free to skip the sentai discussion at the beginning if you so wish)

I don't think I've mentioned this before, but if I have I apologize
Lewis 'Linkra' Lovhaug from Atop the 4th Wall has been doing a History of the Power Rangers, and I do believe it rocks. He just closed out the Zordon Era with Power Rangers in Space, but he is going to continue to RPM
Season One

Season Two

Season Three : Zeo

Season Four : Turbo

Season Five : In Space

Have I not mentioned those yet? D: Those incredibly well done and VERY entertaining.

Yea, I love Linkra, he is super knowledgeable and would make an excellent interview for your podcast -nudge nudge-
He is also the reason I've listened to the Power Rangers in Space theme song soo many times over the past week.
P.S. Colin I'd be interested in knowing what your favorite Power Rangers themes are. After Rangers in Space most of them seemed to devolve into little more than a rock beat and lots of repeating the show name.

Embarrassingly enough, the only thing I've really been listening to lately is Power Rangers/Sentai soundtracks. I like pretty much everything sung by Wasserman, but if I had to pick an all time favorite...

SPD is just balls out adrenaline. It kicks in hard with the "SPDEMERGENCY!" and its all ass-kicking and giant fireballs from there on out. XD

That said, In Space is a close second. I love the countdown and cheesy "In Space!", but also appreciate the way the lyrics climb through the verses. I have an extended cut of it that has the full countdown from 10. Its actually a little too long though as they kind of run out of verses about halfway through.
Honorable Mentions go to Time Force (for that awesome opening time warp sound effect), Dino Thunder (for the opening verse), and of course the original MMPR theme (for bitching guitars).
Outside of the theme songs, I also really like We Need a Hero,

and Big Bang.

I've exchanged emails with him before and he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would come out and be all "RWAR You know nothing of Power Rangers! You call yourself a fan?!?!? hahaha!!!!"
And yea, Operation Overdrive sucked, and Mystic Force wasn't great either. Jungle Fury kind of grew on me a little bit, but no where near my favorite.
SPD's lyrics bring it down in my opinion. In Space would have to top my list followed by Time Force, and Zeo. I also like Lightspeed Rescue, but don't ask me to explain that one :p
Dino Thunder gets an honorable mention for me just because it brought back Jason David Frank to the show.
I only really followed the show until the end of Time Force (which kind of happened to be the end of Saban's total control of the show, and Dino Thunder I kind of watched again because of Jason David Frank.
Even though they've hinted that the series are connected in the same world (Forever Red, and Dino Thunder) it just doesn't feel as good since the ending of In Space. With Saban bring back the series I wonder if they will return to connected seasons. Probably just a pipe dream at best.

Dear lord. I half want to scan the pic of me and my brothers in the off brand power rangers outfits we got when we were kids. We were apparently too poor to afford the official costumes for Halloween, but we got the cheap knockoffs for half the price....crappy helmet included!!! oh dear god it was hot...but i had so much fun!! but I'm so embarrassed NOW!!!

I finished Candy Datas Hyper. Just like his television counterpart, he was irritating and I wanted to melt him into slag on several occasions. Paint scraping issues like you wouldn't believe. Even with sanding stuff down I couldnt get some problem areas fixed. >
Bumblebee wants to play a game but Datas runs on Windows. ;_;
This makes Datas sad.

Datas suggests that Bumblebee pretend to play a video game. It makes Datas very happy.

Great success! Datas and Bumblebee are having a blast! *^o^*
Datas Hyper has greatly restricted hip joints, low knees, and barely poseable feet make posing his legs a pain in the ass. His wrists are irritatng too because they're completely hollow on two sides. >

Hyper Gosei Great would look more impressive if I had more Heads. Also, the mask doesn't sit on his face too well.
