Re: Audi TT quattro

I like it better with the badge, but I didn't like the wheels either...so I guess I'm kinda a chrome girl.

Re: Audi TT quattro

I like my wheels, but I'm still thinking of getting them powdercoated something dark, like gunmetal.

The badgeless grille is only 85 bucks or so, and I could swap them out and then go back to stock if I prefer that.

Or I could pull the badge off and plastidip it black or something.

Re: Audi TT quattro

Dropped it off at the mechanic's last night. Replacing timing belt, water pump, thermostat, changing oil, and rotating tires.

Re: Audi TT quattro

I already need new tires. These Falkens haven't lasted 20k miles. I'd like to go with Continentals or Hankooks, preferably something with a higher tread wear rating.

Re: Audi TT quattro

Russ can I borrow your OCD?  I have a couple of vehicles that could use some love.

Re: Audi TT quattro

$450 later and I have new brake pads and rotors, plus oil change and tire rotation. My pads were worn down to nothing and the rotors looked like cereal bowls, they had such a lip on them. I can find no record of a brake job in all the old paperwork, which leads me to believe they're the factory brakes. If so they lasted 80k+ miles, which is crazy.

Re: Audi TT quattro

Holy balls, this guy swerved to miss a car coming into his lane and ended up flipping his car, crushing the roof in. He walked away without sustaining major injury. Hard to believe, after you see the photos.

Re: Audi TT quattro

Mmm... can't say I'm a fan of it. I would like to see darker hubcaps/rims though. Something glossy and black?

Re: Audi TT quattro

I've thought about it and I really like my silver rims, they seem to match the car really well. I painted the first caliper last night and I think it turned out good.

Re: Audi TT quattro

I love em, but I'm not sure if it's smart to buy right now. They're a little pricey, being racing wheels after all. But they're so light, you can literally pick one up with one hand.

But I said the same thing about the RAs on the Jetta, and I ended up with them anyways after we put them on. My friend Perry wants me to come over and bolt a couple on just for some pictures, but I'm afraid once they're on they'll be much harder to take off...

Sure would look pretty with my painted calipers behind them though.
