Well, it isnt a very good trailer, but I'm dripping nonetheless. It's very exciting!
Think Final Fantasy. Every FF is somewhat the same... theres a Cid, theres summons, theres a effiminate lead, but everything else is different. The core stays the same, but the rest is mutable. Apply that princible to the TF brand, and thats what you\'ll get. This is NOT G1.

It was posted on aintitcool today and then forcibly removed by paramont. seems a pretty good indication to me.
Optimus with a flame-job.
okay, WHY change things just for the sake of changing them??? What movie-maker thinks that they have the right to just arbitrarily change whatver the fuck they feel like in such an old, respected and known story universe?
I mean, WHY make Optimus look like that? Why NOT make the fans happy by at least TRYING to stick to SOME sort of canon?
Necessary, understandable changes are just fine... making Bumblbee a sports car instead of an old VW bug, sure... i don;t like it, but i can undertand it... but changing Optimus to THAT? whyyyy?

Because otherwise things would become stale and boring. Where would Trek be if all we had was Kirk and Spock in every show?
While the pimpin flames are a little much, one of the most kickass Optimus toys was a longnose semi that looks very similar to this shot.

*grumble grumble*
How many times has Optimus been in a live-action movie? That's not stale.
How much sense does it make to have the actors that play Kirk and Spock be different for the movies than the TV shows?
I grant the precedent of a 'long-nosed' Optimus based on those toys, however.
