My mom forwarded me an email about the Sonny's chain. She said that God says he'll help those who help themselves so she's gonna help herself to some ribs!
Hey folks,
Here’s an opportunity to stand up and make a difference. I forwarded this to you because I think we’re on the same page with our beliefs. If you are familiar with Sonny’s restaurant chain then you know the food is really good there, however, no matter how good it is there comes a time to do what’s right. Read the passage below and you decide the right thing to do(?) I know and attend church with Mr. Davis, he and his wife are good, faithful people. This is an opportunity to fight for our Lord, call, write, email “Sonny’s” corporate in regards to what they did to Bill and then pray for Gods hand on Bill, his business partner and their families.
I won’t be giving Sonny’s any more of my business. (Will you?)

Our friend, Bill Davis, is a man of principle.

Dan,
Thought you might be interested in this.
The Sonny's resturant in Tifton is owned by someone I haveknown all my life, Bill Davis from Sylvester. They have owned Sonny's for 22 years. Sonny's has pulled their franchise and here is why:
a few weeks ago a head knocker from the company came by to eat on a Sunday. The employee's were wearing white T-shirts with an American flag that stated on the front, "I Pledge....I Pray". There was also a "Jesus" mento/trinket on the shelf at the cash register.. The T-shirts are not an approved uniform & the "Jesus" memento/trinket are not within Sonny's System Standards.
When Bill recieved the cancellation of the franchise without any warning he called home office and they said this was the reason. I have this in wriiting from the company, given to me by Bill. He was given the choice of changing the T-shirts or loosing the Franchise. He said it took him and his partner 30 seconds to say take a walk.
The sign has been blacked out and after Dec. 1 they will change their name to "Smokehouse". Still under the same management but not associated with Sonny's. Bill is a fine Christian man, teaches Sunday School at 1st Baptist in Sylvester. He refuses to compromise his faith or his love for Jesus.
We see and hear about things like this happening in other parts of the country but it has happened right here in Tifton in the last few weeks.
Tell all you can to support Bill as he stands for Jesus.
so, boycotting Sonny's and causing other chains to close down, possibly lose their business and livelyhood makes for the Lord's work? Really? Causing others to suffer because someone didn't want to follow directions and codes of conduct? seriously? Corporate giants aren't gonna be taken down because of beliefs. It'd take a finger in the chili for that.

1. you're a business owner and you have every right to run your business how you see fit (within legal and ethical guidelines). If you want to run a 'Christian' business, go for it.
2. If you're part of a franchise, then you have to follow the franchise's rules. Usually, those rules are there for a good reason... like not alienating potential customers by promoting a political/religious/cultural stance that has nothing to do with whatever service you provide.

Remember, if your God happens to hate all of the same people you do, he might be made-up.
also:
He was given the choice of changing the T-shirts or loosing the Franchise.
you've got to keep your franchise's tight.
