Ok, color me impressed. How long did this sprawling metropolis take to make?

i've been working on it for about a month, i guess... that includes mining and exploring, too.
i was thinking about abandoning it and starting a new Save, but, i thought, fuck it, i'll just make THIS save what i want! Thats the whole point, really... shaping the world to your design.

Yea Scott, looking at your Island wide PNG (how do you do that btw?) You still have tons of room on other sides of the island to turn into whatever you want.
I like playing on Peaceful so I don't have to ZOMG SPAM TORCHS!

i play on Normal... its just not exciting without the constant threat of Creepers... (and zombies and crackshot skeletons at night and in caves)

For the maps, i use Cartographer.

I don't need excitement, I just enjoy making stuff and not getting eaten by a spider or blown up

Apparently, a Gnome from WarCraft has built a 1:1 scale model of the Enterprise D in Minecraft Classic...

Well, i've attempted to start my own MC server on my PC here... I've opened the ports, got the IPs and got the newest versions of MC and MCServer.
and yet... Everyone gets a "Outdated Client" when trying to connect to it.
I'm going to keep investigating it to see if i can get it to work, but, in the mean time, here is my Alpha world, if anyone wants to mess around in it.

To use the World, unzip the RAR into:
(Win7) Administrator (or whatever your account name is) ->AppData (could be a hidden system file) ->Roaming -> .minecraft -> saves
You can change the name of the folder from "World1" to whatever world you'd rather it be so that it doesnt overwrite your existing worlds.

cool 'backstory' for MineCraft...
http://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comme … ne/c12nxhv
I'm sure everyone has their own story about the mobs, but here's mine: Not long ago, the world was dominated by a single great civilization, whose great castles reached up to pierce the sky as far as the eye could see. Over time, this race of great architects grew proud and powerful, and began to turn their backs on the old gods who had created them and instead began to worship the greatest builders among them. Over generations, the old gods were forgotten, and the masterful god kings ushered in an age of prosperity like the world had never seen. However, inn time the old gods, slow to wake but fiercely jealous, returned to gaze upon their creation. They were infuriated by the betrayal of their subjects, and came down to Earth to destroy their ungrateful children. Those who took up arms against the gods were stripped of their flesh and cursed to forever use their arms to wage war from the darkness. Those who laid down and accepted their deaths were stripped of the meager amount of will they had, and cursed to walk the earth ever hungry for the purpose they never found in life as their flesh rotted from their bodies lack of will to sustain it. Worse yet, those who turned on their fellow man in hopes of gaining the favour of the old gods were twisted into horrifying creatures destined to destroy themselves as they fought their fellow man.
The populous slain, the old gods then stripped all evidence of their civilization from the world and returned the land to nature, leaving their former subjects to wander aimlessly for all eternity, lacking free will but fully conscious of their acts, haunted by the memories of the great civilization that was destroyed by their carelessness.
But the cruelest punishment of all was saved for the last of the great builder kings. Completely untouched by the great cataclysm, he wanders the world forever trying to recapture the glory of his lost realm, surrounded by his former subjects that ever seek to destroy him. Alone in this dead world, he aimlessly explores and builds, discovering long ago that no matter how many times he tries, the old gods will not let him die.
