Subsonic

Found a pretty cool app that works very well.

All your music is on your computer at home, right? Say you want to listen but you didn't sync any to your iPod or your phone. Or you're at work.

Install Subsonic on your computer and get free, instant streaming of your music library over the web. Play all your music through a robust and easy to use web interface. Or, grab the mobile app on your phone and stream over wifi or your data connection.

The software is feature-packed and easy to use. To stream to a mobile device, you'll need a license, which you can get by making a donation (minimum €10). That gives you a valid license for all future versions, which is pretty fair.

The server installs on OS X, Linux, and Windows. And there are apps for iPhone, Android and Windows Phone. This is the same service you get with Ubuntu One, without paying $4/mo.
