The Thing

My brother and I watched the original this afternoon then went to go see the new one.  The prequel does a good job of setting up everything we found out in the original.  With all prequels, there are a couple missteps, but overall, it was fun going back to the Norwegian camp.

Re: The Thing

it just seems so re-make-y.

I just dont know how they can improve upon the Kurt Russel one.

Re: The Thing

Think of it more as an extension to the original story.  You can seamlessly watch the new one, then the old one.  So if you want more Thing, then you get more Thing.  It was always my brother's favorite horror movie, so it was nice seeing what happened a week or so before the events of the old movie.

Re: The Thing

If you want more Thing just rewatch the original with your chair in a different spot.
